Naomi's outside Maya's room, looking in, whining to Fife that Maya called Dell instead of her when she went into labor. She says if she hadn't turned her back on her, she would have called her instead of Dell, and they wouldn't be standing here discussing whether she'll die of hypothermia or never walk again. Because she could have avoided the drunk driver, of course. Fife looks awkward, because Dell's now standing behind Naomi and heard this. He just smiles, and she tells him she knows he didn't crash the car. He nods and says he's going to get water; does she want anything. She doesn't. Fife tells her to stop beating herself up for five minutes. Then she thinks about William, and asks how he's doing. Fife says he's doing great, no nausea or anything, but he's sleeping and she should let him rest. She asks Fife if they'll call him when William wakes up and he says yeah. He watches her sweetly as she worries about Maya and William.

Outside, Charlotte's waiting for the cardiac surgeon to take over for Sam when Cooper comes out and tells a story about Maya coming to see him when she was eight, to check her parents' birds-and-bees story. He asks if Charlotte thinks she'll walk again, but she's focused on whether she survives. Cooper tells Charlotte to marry him, and she asks him not to be hysterical. He says he's not, and was going to do it the next day at dinner with flowers and Etta James. She thinks he's just upset, but he pulls out the ring to prove he was planning it. He tells her Violet almost died a year ago and now Maya. "Life is scary and short, and I love you." He says he's been stupid and can't be anymore. (Riiiiiiight. Like that will happen.) He tells her they have to be together, and something good has to happen today. Then, "Charlotte King, I want to spend my whole damn life with you. Marry me?" She just looks at him, teary. He tells her to speak now, but she doesn't. "Seriously, now you can say something."

Naomi's in a hallway when Addison finds her. Naomi tells Addison she's been horrible to her, and She asks Addison to please forgive her before Addison operates on Maya, because she forgives Addison. Then Addison says there's nothing to forgive, since she didn't sleep with Naomi's husband, who's not even her husband. Naomi asks her to please forgive her, and Addison tells her she does and she loves her and she loves her daughter. She tells her stories about watching Maya grow up, and promises she will take care of her. They get up and walk away arm in arm. Charlotte brings the new surgeon in, who tells Sam he's a good man for operating on this guy in these circumstances. Sam looks at Pete, then says that's the driver, and Charlotte lied to Pete. Pete looks guilty, and Sam says, "You knew?" Pete starts telling Sam that they have to save lives, and he's sorry. Sam turns and punches him in the face and asks him what else he's going to take away from him. "What else?" Because, you guys, it always comes back to being about Addison.
