Crash and Burn

Violet's office. Cooper wonder what's so important. It's a picnic she's made for him: mac and cheese and a bunch of other stuff including an alcohol called Guaro! They hug, and before he eats or drinks she asks about Charlotte. He eats and asks if they can just do that, but Violet says Charlotte left with Sheldon, and was dressed up. She asks him if he loves her, and he nods. Violet tells him to go get her, then. He nods, and she says, "Now, Cooper. I mean go get her now." He swigs his Guaro and leaves. Then we're outside the ER, where Sam's on the phone with Naomi, who will be there soon. An ambulance pulls up and it's a 48-year-old male, who's been in a car wreck and sustained lacerations to his chest. The paramedics holler to Sam that they could use him on this. He tells Addison he's the cardiac surgeon on call. She says it will be fine, and promises to update him every hour, and he heads off. I thought, for a moment, this guy in the ambulance might be Cooper, and it could have been, since they didn't show his face very clearly. But they do show the top of his head and it's totally bald, so I don't think it's him.

More people run out of the hospital with stretchers and Addison asks what's going on. "They're airlifting people from the other car." A helicopter lands, and Dell gets out, with his arm in a sling. He's fine, and walking toward Addison, who obviously realizes what's going on. The music (Youth Group's In My Dreams) picks up so we can't hear anything else that's said, but Dell -- looking like you'd expect a guy who's been through hell about a dozen different ways to look, only hotter -- talks to Addison. Then the nurses and paramedics wheel Maya by on the stretcher. Addison just stands there, in shock, rather than jumping into Super Addison mode to go save Maya's baby, since she's one of only eight people who can do so. And I can't help but think that elevator scene with Sheldon was at least partially so newcomers to the show would know what the ending means: Addison's about to get to work and save some babies (Maya being one, and Maya's baby being the other). If she pulls this off, she'll have more dinner-party fodder, I guess.
