Crash and Burn

Sheldon explains to Sam and Addison why Kim wants to see George even though he kidnapped her, assaulted her (does this mean the baby's his? It has to be, right?), and kept her from her real family: He's been the only person in her life for 15 years, making decisions, feeding her, clothing her. He's the only family she knows. Addison thinks it's too perverse to comprehend, but Sam says all Kim sees is that he took care of her and protected her. Addison thinks that when she sees her parents, maybe her feelings will change. Sheldon says she's been cut off from the world, so George's reality has become her reality.

Violet finds Pete working at Pacific Wellcare. He asks if there's something she wanted, and she says she wants to ask him to forgive her. She doesn't expect it right now, but... "I ran out on you when I should have leaned in. I gave you my baby, and I ran. And part of it's not my fault." But she says he loved her (she says it twice actually, which I hate) and she should have leaned into that and let him take care of her. But she didn't, because she's a shrink and only knows how to take care of other people. She admits she shouldn't have been hurt or taken him to court for saying no about sharing Lucas. She finally gets around to apologizing and does really ridiculous fake crying as she says she understands he did what he thought was right, but she hopes he can forgive her someday. He gets up, with tears in his eyes, and says they could start with overnight visits. For Lucas. Until Lucas and Pete get used to it. She smiles and nods. I think I'm supposed to think this is romantic or something, but it's not. Then they hug and it's supposed to be passionate, but it's just weird. She rubs his face and then walks away.

Fife finds Naomi in her office and says she said no to her for the wrong reasons: He's in love with her because he can't compete with a dying man. He says the thing is, though, that he's in love with her, and if William dying would hurt her, he can't do that to her, because he can't be happy unless she's happy, even if he hates William. He says the protocol will be here within the hour to give to William. She apologizes for his research and the choice she's asking him to make. He says he made the choice and he can live with it. He hopes she can live with hers. Over at the hospital, Kim tells Addison she used to get up early on Saturday mornings and watch cartoons. She'd get up early and not wake anyone up, because it was the only day her mom and dad got to sleep in. She had forgotten that. Addison says there will be other things she remembers, too. Kim tells Addison George loves her, but Addison says sometimes people confuse other things with love, like not wanting to be lonely or afraid or hurt. Kim says they're having a baby together, and Addison knows that Kim will love that baby, but not with him, because she doesn't want her daughter to go through what she did, because that's not love.
