Everybody scurries to get their stuff together and get to the airport. They all seem surprised, but I'm assuming that the producers had to make sure that everyone had their passports when they came to the show. The designers had to suspect that something like this might occur. Not that it isn't still a surprise; just saying.
At the airport, they retrieve their tickets from a kiosk and discover that they are going to Paris. KoMC has never left the country, so he is very excited to see Paris. Jeffrey says that "the birthplace of fashion" is inspiring to him and the other designers. Laura has been pretty subdued, but is overjoyed when she finds out that they are traveling first class.
On the plane, as they are drinking champagne, Tim Gunn arrives with his own glass. He greets everyone and they seem really happy to see him. Jeffrey says, "I don't know what I 'm gonna do after this, if I can't have Tim pop up in my life every once in a while." He can do it. He can be nice if he tries real real hard. They all toast, and it looks like Jeffrey's got water in his glass.
Laura says that her dress was very comfortable for traveling, and she did move the knot to the front of the dress.
In Paris, everyone seems thrilled. They're looking at all the sights. Laura, just barely obnoxiously, says that it's "always" great to arrive in Paris because the city is more beautiful in person than in photos. That may be true and all, but come on, that's a little annoying. And the damn Project Runway music people are so happy that they get to play their techno-accordion some more.
Vincent says that he got off of the plane without a wrinkle. The designers arrive at Parsons Paris. Michael interviews that he didn't even know there was a Parsons Paris. You and me both. They enter to find a workroom with beautiful natural light. Angela is thrilled. She says it's like being in a garden. I don't know what it has to do with anything, but we see Vincent make the nastiest face. I'm not sure if he's annoyed with Angela or what.
Uli notices that there are only six tables in the workroom, though there are seven designers. Looks like one of them will be eliminated before they get to work there.
Tim introduces Catherine Malandrino, their host judge. She is a French fashion designer. Jeffrey says that he was really star-struck. Laura points out that it seems cruel to fly to Paris just to be eliminated and fly home.
Catherine has the thickest French accent ever. All the designers do an abbreviated runway walk for Catherine to judge how their outfits traveled. Angela's is even more wrinkled. KoMC's garment traveled well, but is still butt-ugly. Vincent's traveled well. Jeffrey's was fine, except I still have issues with the crotch. Laura's dress traveled well, though the heels she wore hurt her feet. Michael's stuff looked great. Uli was happy with her dress and felt that it traveled well.
