Laura interviews that she's glad that she's not involved in the Angela/Jeffrey brouhaha because they don't have much time to finish the challenge. Jeffrey keeps taunting Angela and laughing in a very fake way, because he takes all of this shit so seriously and is not nearly as cool as he's trying to come across to everyone. "She's feeling the pressure!" he says about Angela.
KoMC reminds us that they have only one day to finish the challenge, but adds that they only got to start at 2 PM. So, ten hours to complete the look. Tim enters and goes to Jeffrey first. Jeffrey seems super-confident, and Tim says, "It's not boring." "It's gonna be pretty," assures Jeffrey. I swear I'm not a Pollyanna, but I have a really hard time rooting for Jeffrey because he's so mean. That said, he seems to be in his groove. He knows what he's going for and it seems like he knows how to get there.
Oh, there's that Elle with Mandy Moore on the cover. There's a blown-up version on the back of the workroom. Guess what I read? That was the biggest-selling issue of the year. It was huge. I don't really know what to say about that.
Laura tells Tim that she's trying not to be boring or too classic. She adds that it feels different from anything she has sent down the runway before. Laura interviews that she feels good about her garment, but she liked her last one too, and that got "nailed on the runway." She's trying to learn from the judges and keep things "young and fresh."
Tim could use an Uli party dress right about now -- he almost tosses his croissants when he sees KoMC's concoction. Tim tells him that it's looking very "Elvis." KoMC responds, "Oh, I know. I know. Okay, I'm getting busy. Bye." Sort of brushes Tim off right there.
Michael reiterates his urban Hamptons aesthetic for Tim. He tells Tim that he's going to wear a regular t-shirt under his jacket, which "worries" Tim. So he changes his idea ON THE SPOT and decides to make a collared shirt. Now that, my friends, is listening to Tim Gunn. Heeding Kara Saun's advice -- I like it! Tim seems genuinely impressed. Michael interviews that he's running out of time and getting a bit nervous.
Tim tells Angela that her design looks "so junior." She seems shocked. Then, he adds that it looks like "Holly Hobbie." Sweet Jesus, the guy is good. Why does Tim know Holly Hobbie? By the way, are ya'll aware that Holly Hobbie is a total tart now? Weâve come a long way from the Pennsylvania Dutch Holly Hobbie of my youth. Angela says that she likes Holly Hobbie, so it's good that her jet-setter outfit looks like her. Not heeding Kara Saun's advice -- not good. He tells her to make it work and carry on.
