Cop Shop: Machado insists She-Cop cannot release either Bridget's name or photo to the press. She's in too much danger from Macawi. He reminds her they're working toward the same goal and goes in to question "Siobhan." Meanwhile, She-Cop has Andrew in another interview room. She shows him Bridget's mugshot and says, "Mr. Martin, do you know who this is?" Andrew picks up the picture and looks at She-Cop. We cut to a third interview room, in which He-Cop hands Bridget's mugshot to Tool Belt and asks him the same thing. Split screen. Tool Belt is on the left. Andrew is on the right. They both answer, "Bridget Kelly." I did not see that coming.Title card.
Dual Flashback. We cut back and forth between Park Ave. and Gramercy Park, while Bridget-as-Shiv tells Tool Belt and Andrew (at separate times) all about her druggie twin sister. Andrew is angry and hurt. When Juliet wanders into his flashback, he wants to tell her. Bridget asks him not to, but Andrew says, "She's our daughter. She should know." He turns to Juliet. "Siobhan has a twin sister." Juliet gets to utter the episode title (I think she's done that a few times, now). "Oh Gawd, there's two of them?" Bridget-as-Shiv makes it clear to both Andrew and Tool Belt that "Bridget" is a part of her life she wanted to forget. She was always in trouble, doing drugs, never working, and Shiv was always cleaning up her mess. Tool Belt, surprisingly, has enough of a clue to ask, "Why are you telling me now?" Bridget tells him about how Bridget was supposed to testify against Macawi, but took off, and showed up in New York and eventually bolted. "The FBI contacted me. They think that she might, somehow, be involved in Gemma's disappearance." She claims to both men that she didn't want them caught off guard if they're questioned. Where Henry's reaction can be summed up as confusion, Andrew is hurt, angry and concerned.
Cop Shop: She-Cop needs a moment of Agent Guyliner's time, just as he's starting his interrogation of Bridget-as-Shiv. When he returns to the interview room, he tells "Shiv" he's surprised that Andrew and Tool Belt know who Bridget it. "I thought you were keeping your sister a secret." Bridget: "It's hard keeping anything a secret with you guys around." When Guyliner asks if she has anything else she'd like to volunteer, Bridget takes out Shiv's Blackberry (or similar QWERTY keyboard phone). "My sister's not in New York, anymore." She plays the message she recorded in her dressing room, earlier that morning. "Hey, it's Bridget. I'm not sure what to say or how to explain, but I think I really messed up this time." This time, there's more. "And I don't think there's anything you can do to fix it. I have to leave New York. I was thinking, maybe, Europe. Uh, we always used to talk about going there. Anyway, I um... I just wanted to say I'm sorry, and... goodbye." I can't even describe how much I would love it if Guyliner went to Paris, found Shiv, and refused to believe she's not Bridget. I wish finger print technology would suddenly disappear from this show's world. Oh, you look at me like I'm being ridiculous, but you realize you're reading a recap of a show you watch every week, revolving around an ex-junkie/stripper/possibly-prostitute, who has assumed her evil, rich socialite twin's life, fooling said sister's husband, lover, best friend, step-daughter and the FBI agent assigned to her case. See? Like misery, ridiculousity (is too a word) loves company. Come sit by me and stop bogarting the wine, will ya?
