He makes room for her on the couch and suggests she sit down. Once she does, he tells her, "It's Gemma. It appears something may have happened to her. I just got off the phone with Henry. I don't know all the details, but it seems that no one has seen and heard from her since she called me last night. I know you thought she was taking time, but Henry says the police have reason to believe she was a victim of foul play." Bridget's eyes fill up. 'I don't understand. Are you saying..."
