We see a spotlight outside a Metropolis building. Inside, Dr. Hamilton is on the phone with Clark. Clark's asking if Emil got through to the mansion. Emil says he tried, but all the lines were down. Clark needs to warn Tess. He needs to get to Smallville fast. "Are you there yet?" Emil asks playfully. Clark says he's on the corner of Marshall and Beeman, a nod to two Smallville directors. Clark doesn't see anything. Emil tells him to turn North and walk 30 feet. "It's not faster than a speeding bullet, but it'll get you there pretty quick." Clark finds a crazy-ass sports car, a luscious dark horse rarin' to go. The lights are on and the engine revs. Clark is a little excited despite himself.
