Inside Hamilton's lab. Chloe and Pete have snuck in, flashlights a' flashin'. Creepy music. Pete tries to uncover something and knocks it over instead, breaking glass. Chloe comes over. Flower on the floor. "Pete?" she calls. Pete comes up behind her. He has the funniest, most devilish look on his face. You go, Pete! "You lookin' for me?" he asks. Wait'll they get a load of him. Pete touches her face and asks if she knows how beautiful she is. Finally! Pete has something to do in an episode! Oh, and go see his movie ZigZag when it comes out. He's fantastic in it. Chloe starts to run. Pete catches her and snaps, "That's right. Ignore Pete." Hear that, writers? Quit ignoring Pete! Pete's mad that Chloe only has eyes for Clark. Man, this flower thing sure happened fast for Pete. He must have a lot of repressed feelings right on the surface. Pete throws some books around and says that Clark is probably hanging out with his new best friend, Lex. Pete finds a gun on the counter and picks it up. Uh oh. "Give me your keys," Pete says. Chloe asks why. "I'm serious, Chloe," he says, pointing the gun at her. Pete's scary! "Gimme the damn keys!" he screams. I expect to see an entire Pete episode soon. I'm serious. Chloe gives up the keys.
Hospital. Bo's room. MamaKent is looking at her man adoringly. Clark walks in. He asks how Bo is. "Not good," she says. She tells Clark that Beales died a half-hour ago. Say a little prayer for Road Rage Man. He raged on like no other. And he had a cool hula girl doll. Sad, tinkly music plays. Clark says that with all his abilities, there's nothing he can do. He could fly around the world a bunch of times and turn back time, couldn't he? MamaKent asks if she ever told Clark about the first time she saw Bo. He was driving in the General Lee, evading Boss Hogg. Oh, wait, wrong show. Turns out she saw him at Metropolis U. She asked if she could borrow his notes from a finance class. She says he was all denim and flannel, eating an apple. So what's changed? She had lied. She was the note-taker for the class. "You were sly, mom," Clark says. MamaKent says he was so cute and that when she asked, he just handed over his notes without asking who she was. Naïve, much? She asked how he knew she'd bring it back. "I prefer to believe in people," he told her. Except for Luthors. As she starts to tear up, she says that when she looked at him, she was thinking the dumbest thing: "God, I hope he marries me." That is dumb. But really, really sweet. "Every day there's a part of me that says, 'God, I hope he marries me,'" MamaKent says, finally breaking down. It's an incredibly sweet moment, and proof that, like Pete, MamaKent needs way more to do on this show. How about a spin-off? The Adventures of MamaKent and Pete, Forgotten Characters! MamaKent cries. Clark hugs her. Bo is passive. Chloe comes in and apologizes for interrupting. She asks to talk to Clark. He goes. MamaKent kisses him on the cheek as he leaves.
