This show spent seven years showing us that Chloe is smarter, a better journalist and a more competent information-gatherer than anyone else in this particular fictional universe. She was only fired because Lex was being a little pissy that day. And now that the one obstacle to returning to the paper has been removed (sure, Lex has been replaced, but I doubt Chloe would have trouble getting rehired. I mean, shit, they hired the no-clips farmboy), Chloe is like, "Eh, fuck it?" She's unemployed. She'd rather bag groceries or give handjobs in some back alley than work with Clark and Lois at the place she's dreamed of working all her life? The place where she supposedly had a future? I just don't buy this. Again, it's just weak, sudden character shifting. If anything, Chloe's time in Montana should make her more hungry to uncover the truth and expose LuthorCorp's web of lies.
