Mystery Sinus Theater

Commercials. I was recapping this weekend instead of going to see The Departed. Believe me when I say I'll be hitting the movie theater first next weekend.

The Daily Planet. The gold globe spins. Inside, Clark, in a plain red t-shirt, is visiting Chloe. "Hey!" Chloe says brightly. "Hey," Clark barely spits out. Chloe says that he doesn't look so hot. For once. Clark doesn't feel so hot. He's down to a low smolder. Clark says that he ran out of superspeed around 3rd Avenue and had to jog the rest of the way. How repulsively human! Chloe asks Clark to sit down, and tells him that if he feels like sneezing, he'd better cover up his face. Chloe starts typing on her computer, but doesn't get far before Clark mopes about seeing Lana at Lex's mansion. Chloe already knows about it. Clark mutters that it's like he and Lana don't know each other at all now. He heard Lana calling Pontius. Chloe recognizes him as the highest-paid gumshoe in Metropolis. Not anymore! "Maybe Lex knew he was in trouble," Clark guesses, all clammy and sick. He wants to talk to the guy. Chloe starts to look him up. She guesses that when Clark was stuck in the "land of the lost," he didn't expect to be saving Lex Luthor while battling a head cold. That's what's so great about this show! Right? Right!? Who's with me!? (Crickets.) Clark says that it wasn't the goodbye gift he was expecting. "I guess heroes don't get sick days," Chloe says. No, but they get good ratings sometimes. Clark says that most heroes don't put the world in jeopardy on an annual basis. Touché. "I'm no hero, Chloe," Clark whispers. You know what sucks? Since the show moved to The CW, I've got no Closed Captioning. I'm guessing at some of the dialogue now, and I'll just say that some actors (cough Lois cough) couldn't enunciate to save their life. Chloe finds the address for Pontius on Grant Street. Clark stops Chloe from tagging along by saying that it'll be dangerous, but she counters that Clark's not exactly Mr. Strong right now, and barely made it over. Clark starts to sneeze. "Oh God," Chloe says. Clark sneezes and papers fly, but he manages to cover most of it. "Quick hands," Chloe says. "You're getting good at that." Damn you missing Closed Captions!
