Lex leads Lana out of the room. Good thing she doesn't sleep in her underwear or naked. Very bright strobe lights flash in the hall as Lana and the guards jog together. Lex just does a brisk walk. He says that he'll tell Lana everything once they're in the panic room. They enter Lex's large office. Lex assures Lana that she'll be fine and that he's right behind her. Suddenly, Lex gasps. His body turns to black-and-white stripes. Lana turns and sees Lex as this animated static-laden signal. He's going to enter the video for A-Ha's "Take On Me"! Doo doo do doot doot, do doodoodoodoo, doo doo do doot doot, do doodoodoodoo...I could do that all day. "Talking away...I don't know what A'hm to saaahay..." Some karaoke sounds like a lot of fun right now. Lana screams for Lex. The guards tell her they have to get her into the panic room. She screams again, her mouth incredibly wide. The room closes. Lex gets to his feet, gasping. He calls for Lana. "Hello!?" he yells. A flash of static. He asks if anyone is here. Another burst of static. He asks what's going on. Lex looks around the room. The camera spins with him. "This is insane," he says. He tries to grab a phone on the desk. His hand turns to static and passes through it. Oh man, that's what happened to me when I was still using Sprint. Lex looks serious and lost. Chin up, buddy. There can't be too many seasons left.

Helicopter fly-over of Metropolis at night near the Daily Planet building. Inside, a custodian is walking up some stairs with a push broom. Down in the basement, where all the exciting stuff happens, Chloe is checking a fax. Since when did she get demoted? We hear a whoosh. It's Clark, responding to her urgent call. Chloe says that a Taiwanese cargo ship was found off the coast of Alaska with its entire crew dead; the ship's last stop was Bellona Island. Clark examines a paper Chloe hands him and remembers that island got hit with a meteor the same day Clark escaped the Phantom Zone. He asks where the ship is now. Chloe says that it's being towed to Seattle. Wow, that's right near Vancouver! What a coincidence! Clark says that he has to go there. Bring back some coffee, Clark. Seriously. And none of that Folgers Crystals bullshit! Chloe, sporting weird curls and bangs rather than her usually fun hair, says that these aren't just meteor freaks; they're real aliens who can put a hurtin' on Clark. Clark says that he has the crystal Raya gave him; he'll use that against them. Clark walks out as Chloe answers her ringing cell phone. It's Lana. Clark stops to listen. There's trouble. Trouble at the mill? Lassie, where!? "Oh my God," Chloe says, per usual. Clark asks what happened. Chloe tells him that Lex just mysteriously disappeared. Clark says that he has to go to Seattle. Chloe says that she knows Lex isn't Clark's pick for "Man of the Year" (oh, for the days when he was), but that Clark can't just turn his back. Clark says that there are innocent people in danger and that he'll be back as soon as he can. See ya when this week's B-story has concluded, Clark. Chloe watches him go.
