Sure it's a Chloe episode, but you know what we're missing? A Lana scene! Lucky you! Clark is at The Talon, apparently at Lana's request. Clark complains that he hasn't gotten any phone messages from Lana lately. You needy bastard. Lana says she's been wanting to show Clark something. It's the Paris brochure. Lana says she sent in her application last week. Clark doesn't understand. He's slow, honey. Explain it to him. Lana says she's leaving. Woo! Clark looks sad. Hoo! He asks if this is because of him. She says it's because of everything. And because she got the idea from Marissa's room on The O.C.. Lana says she needs a fresh start. Clark asks about Lana's friends, and her life in Smallville. She says that maybe she'll wind up in town eventually, but that she can't be happy wondering if there's something else out there -- other superheroes and bald billionaires. Clark asks why she didn't tell him sooner. She didn't want anyone to talk her out of it, and she knew Clark was the only person who could. Serious glances. Trip-hoppy chanting music plays. Is this the day we've all been waiting for? I'm ready to say "Goodbye, Lana."

The Torch. Chloe sits down at her desk and uses the office phone to dial her voicemail. She enters her password and listens to her one new message. "Hello Miss Sullivan. It's only me," says Papa Luthor. "Um, oh, no need to look for that conversation we had earlier. It's gone. And, well, that's it. No need to call back." There are no more messages. Chloe has a serious "oh shit" moment. Blackout. Cool.
