Maybe This Time

Bombshell - Derek picks Karen to play Marilyn, which sends Ivy into a tailspin of possibly suicidal despair, so she tells Karen how she slept with Dev and the whole show teeters on the verge of disaster. But then Karen sings the hell out of that eleven o'clock number, and everything wraps up beautifully — except we all still wonder how much better Ivy would've done it. But at least Ellis gets fired. HOORAY!

Prelude to a Flop

Previews - The show's first preview goes up and it's more Bomb than Shell, which prods Tom and Julia to rewrite the end of the show, while Dev and Ivy flail about in the aftermath of their shameful drunken banging and someone poisons Rebecca with peanuts. Could it be… Jimmy Carter?!

Technical Difficulties

Tech - As the show moves to Boston to prepare for previews, Dev cheats on Karen, Derek cheats on Ivy, Julia continues to moan about how she cheated on Shrek, and the show misplaces its Joe DiMaggio. And Tom and Sam continue to have the only functional relationship on this show.

Public Enemies

Publicity - Rebecca Duvall decides to make Karen her BFF this week, which makes Ivy and Dev mad with jealousy. So Dev sings a not at all culturally insensitive Bollywood number, which reminds us to be careful what we wish for. But at least Ellis gets demoted to Chief Smoothie Maker.

The Movie Star - When movie star Rebecca Duvall joins the company, everything improves, until we learn that the would-be star of this Broadway musical can't, um, sing. Although she has IDEAS, so that's going to make everyone happy.
