Cat tells the audience to howl for Twitch and sends him away. Lil' C congratulates Melanie on getting through the routine, which seems likely reasonably faint praise. If I'm interpreting him correctly, he feels that Melanie started off a little weak, but that her performance got better. Christina loves Melanie in general and also in this dance, specifically when she started strutting. Mary, who is showing an awful lot of cleavage, says that her brother thinks that Melanie is like Shirley Temple. She says that it was hard music to dance to, which seems like an excuse. Nigel brings up the allegation that Melanie hasn't had to dance outside of her style. Then he dismisses it, saying, "Just keep doing what you're doing and we'll see you in the finale."
Sasha has Kent, and the two of them have been saddled with Tyce. While Cat announces this, she's apparently being distracted by someone in the audience, because as soon as her microphone cuts off, she starts giving them an adorable talking-to. Tyce explains that his piece is about two people who have hit a wall. As he says this, we see Kent literally hitting a physical wall. Oh, lordy. Sasha is near tears as she says that the theme of this routine speaks to her.
The dance does, in fact, involve a literal wall on the stage. But it's being used pretty well, and Kent and Sasha are able to strike interesting poses up against it. I do kind of object to the spots where Kent just kind of shows off, but I understand that it's a great temptation for a choreographer to throw that in. It's a really nice piece, although I don't fully understand the ending, where Sasha's walking away and Kent suddenly picks her up and holds her upside down against the wall. By the way, Kent isn't a huge muscly guy, but he doesn't seem to have any trouble with any of the lifts in this routine.
Sasha is both exhausted and near tears at the end. Christina mentions that there have been girls who can développé, but you don't care. But Sasha can put her finger against a wall and break your heart. I agree! And that proves that she's been watching this season, because she totally just slammed Jordan. Good one! She also says that she was watching Sasha even when Kent was off doing his spins. [Sadly, the camera angle didn't give us at home that same option, as Kent's spins basically blocked Sasha. -- Angel] Mary found it intoxicating and also seems to be near tears. Nigel takes a moment to say something nice about Tyce, which he probably appreciates after the way this season has gone for him. Also, Sasha is back to being his favorite dancer. I'm not sure what Lil' C is talking about, but he's on the brink of tears and seems very sincere about whatever it is. He does mention that he'd have given anything to work with her this season, which seems like pretty high praise coming from a choreographer.
