Daniel: Because she got sick.

Sparks: Yeah, yeah. I got to work with her in a group number but I didn't get work with her in the couples.

Daniel: She wasn't voted off, but she couldn't compete, so she had to be eliminated. Were there any dancers who you thought were voted off too soon?

Sparks: Besides, Jessi, hmm… You know what, I could have saw Dominic staying there a little bit longer. I could see him staying there just a little bit longer. I could see Sara going, but Dominic, I think Dominic did real good the whole season. He stood his ground every number that he did, so I could have saw him in the top four, honestly.

Daniel: From week to week, when the dancers select their routines, and they see what dance style they're going to be doing that week, are you already working on the hip-hop routine, or are you waiting to see who gets assigned to you and then you tailor the routine to them?

Sparks: I have to wait until I see who I got. 'Cause I have a vibe, and I have a concept of what I want to do musically, but I don't really create too much choreography until I see who I got because a lot of them won't do what I want them to do, right? So once I see who I got, I'm like, "Okay, she's a hip-hopper. She's lyrical." So now I know what kind of choreography I want to do for the two.

Daniel: Did Nigel Lythgoe influence the outcome too much when he said it would be nice if a girl won, do you think?

Sparks: I -- you know, that's a good question. I don't know. I don't know. I don't -- I mean, that's like a yes-or-no question, you know what I mean? Because if people judged -- like, any time I talked to anybody after the fact, now they're all saying, "Oh my god, I'm so glad Sabra won 'cause she was my favorite." You know, because we never hear who people's favorite is until after the show, because they're just voting. So Nigel and everybody on the show get those votes, so they know who's getting the higher and lower votes. But when that show was over, everybody that I talked to was like, "Oh my god, I was so voting for Sabra." Even my mother was like, "That girl Sabra is so special." When I told her she won, she was like, "Oh my god! That's who I wanted to win!" You know what I mean? So I can't say he -- I'm sure he had a little influence on it, but I think America was totally behind her a hundred percent.
