The Brian Setzer Orchestra song lyrics make the theme explicit as the two of them flit about the stage, grins plastered to their faces. Looks good to me, if a little boring, with Comfort not as up for it as Mark. What do I know?
Nigel didn't like it; he says there was no chemistry between them, which I agree with. He calls it "slightly amateurish," which is rather harsh. Mary didn't like it either, although the lift at the end was one of the "funnest" things she's ever seen. Toni picks at one particular turn, and then rambles on about how hard things are, and then calls their hip-hop routine "FABULOUS!" Psst! Toni! We're on the foxtrot now!
Chelsie and Joshua are doing disco, which means Doriana Sanchez, who wants people to have fun when they watch this routine, as opposed to the disco routines meant to inspire mass suicides.
Gloria Estefan, "Everlasting Love." Oh, this is not good. This looks like an awful lot of effort, especially on Joshua's part. I mean, I know all the dances require a ton of effort; they're just not supposed to look like it. There are many lifts and spins and twirls -- Joshua at one point holds Chelsie by an arm and a leg and swings her around (the airplane, right?) -- and it looks like work. To be fair, it's the final routine of the night. I can hardly blame them if fatigue has set in. Joshua's sweating like Patrick Ewing by the time he's done.
Well, Nigel starts off with the usual "on a scale of ten to ten, I give the choreographer a ten" routine for Doriana. He praises the lifts, especially the Superman lift, both for Joshua's strength and Chelsie's trust in Joshua. Mary similarly liked it. She calls it "out of sight." Toni says Joshua pulled together the spirit of disco, although his lines weren't quite there. But Chelsie's lines were all there, so between the two of them, they pulled it off. You know, I usually defer to the judges because of my lack of knowledge, but I don't think the foxtrot was near as bad as they made it out to be, and the disco is not nearly as good as they're saying.
Prediction for elimination: Mark (if Nigel's brutal anti-Markery is effective) and Comfort.
