Ballroom dancer Anya Garnis, 25, originally from Russia, now from New York City, is teamed up with the tastefully named contemporary dancer Danny Tidwell, 22, from Virginia Beach. Anya's going to bring the passion, and for Danny, dance is a form of communication/therapy. He's also the adopted brother of Travis Wall, a finalist from last year.

Tony Meredith wants to get their jive talking. Danny has a hard time getting it down, though. There's some good-natured ribbing about whether Anya's bossy or not.

Anya wears a sparkly green dress with a fringe, which goes well with Avril Lavigne's peppy "Girlfriend." God, I hate that song. But Anya and Danny knock me out. There's a lot of kicking and stepping -- at one point, Danny does a back split between Anya's legs and she shakes her junk at him. She really seems to be enjoying herself.

Unanimous praise from the judges, not just for the dancing, but for how hot Anya is. Mary says, "The hot tamale train just pulled up and let Anya off the train. Special delivery!" I am not making that up. I suspect the liquor store made a special delivery to Mary's dressing room before tonight's show. Nigel says they will be a couple to be reckoned with.

Lacey Schwimmer, from Redland, Calif.,, is a swing and ballroom dancer, and a "professional krumper." It is news to me that you can get paid to do that. And also, I do not know what that is. And hey, did you guys know Lacey is the sister of last year's winner? This is the first time we're hearing about this for at least five minutes! She also holds a couple of national dance titles. She's paired with Kameron David Bink, 22, from Coral Springs, Fla. He's hip-hop and contemporary, and he's "a star." If you don't believe him, check out the red stars he's dyed onto his head.

Mia Michaels is doing the choreography, when she's not sexually assaulting Kameron. Lacey says the choreography is basically "doing the dirty" with clothes on. Shut the front door! Yet again, one or both of the dancers seem to struggle at practice. Get used to that recurring theme. Kameron and Lacey in interviews use code words (like "intense") about Mia that make me wonder if they think she is a real bitch.

"Dancing" by Elisa is the soundtrack to the dirty dancing, which starts off with Lacey crumpled in Kameron's arms, and features Lacey flinging herself into Kameron's arms a couple of times. It's a little too overwrought and melodramatic for me, like the choreography for some crappy Goth girl video, and since I don't like this music or this kind of dancing, it's really hard for me to tell if they're any good, but they seem to be, especially her.
