Chehon and Tiffany: Rumba (Dmitry Chaplin)
Dmitry says the routine has to be so hot that we're uncomfortable, and the dancers sure seem to be up for it. In some years, the finalists can be worn out by the finale, but maybe it's the two week Olympic break that helped re-charge their batteries, but the finalists are really peaking tonight. This is hot and perfect. Tiffany is in charge out there; Chehon is white hot.

Afterwards, Mary finds her boo Dmitry in the audience and gives him a shout. She references the fact that Chehon has had trouble with Latin, but man, the rumba was really suited for him. Though she doesn't quite buy the chemistry, which I think I did. She then calls Tiffany a little Latin dancer. I love Mary talking technical about dance, which she does here while explaining what a "cucaracha" move is. Rob loved how un-showy it was. Nigel makes an open-shirt joke about Chehon, but Mary's like, "Well, it was Dmitry," which causes Dmitry to pull his own shirt open (revealing chest hair, so he must be between waxings) and everybody's giggling.

Cyrus and Twitch: Animation (Christopher Scott)
Twitch and Glitch, this should be good. The idea is that they're genetically altered robots or something. They're having so much fun in rehearsal, it's pretty adorable. Due to Cyrus's expert level at this style, I'm almost watching Twitch more to see how he's doing with this style. I'm so proud of Twitch, you guys! (Also, hi, Twitch managed to get good at the other styles during his season, so you know why I am expecting more of Cyrus.) The two men have insane control over their bodies and they earn a standing O. Their support for each other is awesome.

The crowd won't calm down. This one routine is why Cyrus will win, despite this late-term change of heart where Chehon is suddenly Nigel's favorite. Nigel "apologizes" to Cyrus because he's not going to vote for Cyrus tonight, but he's so proud of Cyrus, but he knows how hard a dancer (like Chehon) has to work to get where he is as a dancer. Cyrus takes it well; Nigel's been such a weird open book this season.
