Juice Can't Concentrate

We cut to Juice pulling a length of chain out of the tow truck. Then to Chibs reporting to the rest of the club graybeards that Juice is MIA; he never showed up at the Coke-K Corral. He is sufficiently alarmed, and decides to head up to the Coke-K Corral to see if he can find Juice. Tig decides to accompany him. Left alone in the clubhouse for now are Bobby Elvis and Clay. They retreat to separate corners for their fuming.

I should note that while all this is going down, Katey Sagal has been singing the classic "Strange Fruit," which is a searing look at the sick, sick practice of lynching. The lyrics to the song, as written by Abe Meeropol, are:

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is the fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

As the song ends, Juice wraps the tow chain around his neck, jumps off the branch of the tree he had been sitting in, and the camera follows his descent. We see his feet jerking frantically, hear strangled gasps -- then, as the camera goes dark, we hear a snap. According to the closed captioning, it was a branch cracking. We'll find out for sure what it was next week.
