Back in the jail, Sergeant Jackball comes in to press the question: "Which guy goes?" "We're still working it out," Opie drawls. "Want to make sure we cover the spread," Jax adds. Sergeant Jackball whacks him in the knee with a nightstick, which would seem to queer the betting pool, but what do I know from wagers on blood sports? Opie gets up to defend his bestie and Sergeant Jackball's gun is instantly in his hand: "Bad idea." Sergeant Jackball then demonstrates why his death will merit the Stahl treatment later in the series by gloating, "This is my hell, bitch. I make the rules. If you don't pick which guy fights, I will."
After he leaves, Opie asks if Jax is okay, then follows, "What are you going to do?" "Cry" seems to be the first choice. The second would be "Pick the guy."
Back at the Best Little Cathouse in Charming, Nero is trying to defuse Gemma's ridiculous snit over Clay's arrival, and it almost works, except for a shirtless Juice coming out looking quite goofily pleased. "Heeey?" he says nervously, totally cuing Gemma in to the fact that Nero lied about Clay already having left. Cue Gemma charging down the hall, shouting, "You want me kicking in every goddamned door?" As Nero hustles after her, a sated-looking Carla drawls, "Room three."
We see Clay sitting on the bed, dressed but for his shoes and socks (...okay), looking faintly pleased to have caused Gemma to lose her cool. Out of the bathroom walks Emma, adjusting her bustier, and she brightly asks, "What's going on?"
An ass-kicking is what's going on, as Gemma begins slamming Emma's head into any hard surface she can find. Clay just stays on the bed, watching the show with a faint smirk, and Nero sighs all, "Really?"
Back at the prison, all four Sons are now in the holding room before shift change. Chibs asks if the boys are okay, and Tig asks if Jax knows what's going on. Jax says, "Pope wants one of us dead." Tig immediately volunteers, and Jax shares, "No, you he wants alive and inside. Forever." Chibs sighs, "All right. So. How are we handling this, Jackie?" Jax has decided that he's going to handle it by not making a choice at all: He figures the four of them can fight the guards and then ... escape through the hot air balloon that will miraculously appear once they've triumphed over a bunch of heavily armed guards in a prison? Is Aquaman piloting the balloon? Because that's about as likely as what Jax is suggesting. Chibs is down with the fantasy plan.
