The Incredible Hoofer

Lee points out that Janelle doesn't have the technique that Mochi does, but, with training, she thinks she could be great. Jason says that Janelle looked strong, but there wasn't much joy in her dancing. Vincent thinks that Janelle needed to define her character more. Jason says that "as a staunch heterosexual" it was hard for him to take his eyes off of Cody. This tickles Cody. Jason adds that Cody made Mochi the focus when it should be. Vincent feels like Cody is "The Lone Ranger" because he's always wearing a mask and Cody replies, "Ew, that hurt." But, Vincent adds that he feels like Cody removed his mask. He thinks that Cody's acting was very impressive. Nancy says that Cody was "hot stuff." She liked his athleticism, but she feels like his upper body needs work during jumps. Lee tells Nick that he was great, but he needs to open his jumps more and generally let loose. Jason feels that Nick exuded confidence. Nancy liked Nick, but she feels like he needs to be less "vanilla."

The dancers stand there while the judges deliberate. Nomi asks Lee whose performance and process she thought was best and she says Mochi and Cody. She had been concerned that Mochi would be too small for the role, but she amazed her. Cody is a more obvious choice for Joe and he got it from the moment he started. Nancy liked Cody best and thinks that, if he had been Janelle's partner, he would have made her look better. Vincent says that Mochi was his favorite. When they are finished deliberating, Nomi says that it was a hard choice. She asks Mochi and Cody to step forward. Lee says that Cody is the winner and he looks practically incredulous. He interviews that he was happy to win his first immunity and he was proud that Jason Alexander complimented his acting choices. Mochi says that she really wanted to win, but she was totally a good sport about it.

Here comes the elimination group. Nomi reminds them that one of the will be eliminated and that they should STEP IT UP. Oscar says that this is his forte and he would be really pissed if he got eliminated. And they begin. Michael looks really weak from the beginning. His posture and general carriage just seems off a lot of the time. His turns are stiff. He does have that musicality that Lee mentioned though. Oscar seems maybe a beat behind, but who can tell? Miguel looks fine in parts, but the tempo really gets the best of him. At one point, the music speeds up and Vincent's all "What the hell?" It's bad. Afterwards, there's a smattering of applause. Lee says that they looked so much better at rehearsal. Lee tells them that they were over-dancing and rushing-- their adrenaline was getting the best of them. Vincent says that they are going to need to see it again. Oscar says that he feels like he gave his best. Well then, they don't need to see it again, if that's the case, says Vincent. Michael says that he would love to perform the number again. He adds that he hasn't been able to bond with Miguel and Oscar. What the fuck does that have to do with the price of spandex in Capezios??!! Miguel says that if Michael had wanted to rehearse with them, he should have asked. He's not there to give him an invitation. For the first time, I find Miguel absolutely correct. Nomi lays it down-- they can do it again if they want.
