A Champion Within Oneself

Jacques splits the dancers into two groups: Mochi, Cody, and Nick In one and Miguel, Michael, and Janelle in the other. They're not going to find out who is the winning and elimination team until the next day. Miguel interviews that he already assumes he is on the losing team because Michael is on it. He doesn't like him and he doesn't trust him as a dancer. Nomi says that they will be going to the theater now for some "heavy lifting." Cody says that if he and Nick are on the elimination team, they will be really pissed about having to go through all of that icky gay stuff. Imagine how Miguel is going to feel!

They arrive at the theater to find large stairs onstage and a huge atom-like structure hanging from the ceiling. Jerry pops out of a trapdoor on the stairs and greets the dancers. Jacques is standing beside the stairs. They are told that for the callback, they will have to choreograph modern routines using the apparatuses that Jacques has created.

Miguel is worried about the choreography-- indeed Jerry says that the challenge is about innovation and teamwork. The routines will be 2 minutes in length. Nick, Mochi, and Cody rehearse first. Jacques says that the beginning is the hardest part. Mochi offers an idea of being a little sister who wants to join in with her brothers on a journey. They get started and it all looks pretty good. It's very athletic and Cody says it's right up his alley. Mochi isn't tall enough to reach the atom, which poses a problem. Nick interviews that he hates the atom. They look pretty good though. I lose interest in this sort of stuff after about five minutes. It's a good thing that the show's editors never let us see more than one full minute of dance in the entire program anyway. Mochi wishes they had more time with the apparatuses.
