When we return, a caption tells us that it's Friday morning. Matt walks through the building carrying a basketball. Not dribbling it, not tossing it from hand to hand, just holding it in one palm like it's a Faberge egg. He finds Nate asleep on a couch somewhere and hurls the ball against the wall right near Nate's head. Nate jumps up like he's on fire and cowers before Matt's fury. "You know what you had me doing last night?" Matt barks. Nate, still groggy, is like, "Was that a basketball? Did you get the boot?" Matt says that he gave back the boot, along with most of his dignity. Nate isn't really big on dignity since his breakup with Paula. Matt says he wishes Nate had put it in that context when he advised him to get that boot signed. They walk over to where Harriet's rehearsing a sketch, and Nate asks if this is seriously hard for Matt. Matt says that Harriet's belief that the world was created in six days isn't even among the top three reasons they're not together, and yet...when he watches her on stage, it makes his chest hurt. Nate gets all mushy: "God. I just think it's great when we talk like this." Matt's like, "Yeah, we're done now. Bye." Rehearsal begins, and Harriet does a great Juliette Lewis impression.
