Every Party Has a Pooper

Brett reminds her underlings that the editorial challenge is on. She says that party guests are some of the world's most fashionable people. She charges each team with choosing the trendiest mother-daughter pair and designing their trend page around them. The team with the weakest page will be up for elimination.

The party begins and in parade the cupcakes the girls who are just starting to realize that they are and forever will be fat and ugly, no matter how many nose jobs and eating disorders they have. Ah, fashion! As the illusionist performs and the kids play, the minions chat with various mothers to see which has the most fashionable ensemble and matching kid. Because, if you think about it, kids are really just expensive accessories, right?

Team 1 quickly finds a mother-daughter pair who are both wearing tunic dresses with geometric prints. Megan and Dyshaun gravitate toward Kathleen, a fetching lady in a ruffled white dress. They chat her up until Kate shoves her way in and claims she chose Kathleen first. Megan actually tries to be civil, but Kate starts pointing and yapping, "It's not fair!" Oh, grab a cupcake and shut your trap. For all his biases, Dyshaun rightly points out that Kate's behavior was tacky. Megan and Johanna joke around with Kathleen to cover up their embarrassment.

Johanna goes over to Kate's team to see what happened, and Kate doesn't even try to explain but just repeats again and again that she picked Kathleen first. She stops just short of sticking her thumb on her nose and singing, "Nah, nah-nah, nah, nah-nah!" Eternity Cologne says Kate made a huge deal out of nothing. Kate interviews that she told her teammates she wanted that particular mother. Newsflash: She's not a couch in your college's student lounge. You can't call dibs on people. You have to talk to them... Kathleen and her daughter look like they're seriously regretting ever coming to this party.

Eternity tries to get Kate to move on, but Kate makes it clear that her choice was ignored, so now she'll just suffer it out as she goes along with their choices. Her knack for landing in this position every single week -- how she reluctantly rides others' coattails to mediocrity -- when she's such a strong leader is simply mind-boggling. Eternity admits she was embarrassed by Kate's inappropriateness.
