Harvey comes and finds Mike in the file-filled conference room, and tells him about the settlement news. "It worked?" Mike says with surprise, which tells Harvey it was Mike's idea. "You're welcome," Mike says, but Harvey says he's not thanking him, because they're not taking the deal. Because he doesn't trust Hardman. Mike gets mad, saying everyone's paying now and adding that he was the one who convinced Donna to come in. "I made her do what I needed instead of what she wanted. I did what you do and look where that's gotten us. You, me, Jessica, Louis, everybody. Take the deal, Harvey." Harvey asks Mike what Hardman found and Mike doesn't know either, but says it doesn't matter. Harvey insists that Hardman can't be trusted, but Mike says if Harvey doesn't take the deal, it's going to cost them more than money. "And if you don't know that by now, then I don't think I should be learning from you." Burn!

The next morning, Jessica asks the assembled partners for a show of hands. It's a split decision, but that's only because Harvey abstained. "I vote we settle," Harvey finally chokes out. Jessica looks at him in surprise, and maybe a bit of betrayal, and moves to adjourn the meeting. But since they're all there anyway, Hardman would like to mention something else. "This lawsuit has caused some of you to question Jessica's judgment and by extension her leadership. Allowing this kind of dissension to fester hurts the entire firm. Therefore, I am calling a partner's meeting, at which point we will vote: either Jessica will retain her position as managing partner or I will resume control of Pearson Hardman." Yep, there it is. If only Mike's realization that "people are who they are" had been followed to its logical conclusion.
