Robert Zane visits his daughter in her office and tells her he's dropping the case. "I never should have taken it in the first place." As Mike hovers into view behind him, he tells her she was right about his picking a fight with her family and telling her to sit it out. "Those are words a man should never hear from his daughter." She gets him to admit he's not tough enough to take that, and they agree to take another crack at having her birthday lunch again tomorrow. Though he teases her that the food she ordered him tasted like ass. After he leaves, Mike comes in with a framed display of her LSAT score for her birthday. It's sweet, but it's the end-of-scene banter between them that really signals that they're better now.
In Jessica's office, Harvey asks Jessica how it went with Zane. The discussion turns into an Untouchables quote-off, which Zane himself wanders into. Harvey directs him to Steel Magnolias two doors down, but Zane self-mocks that he's more into Beaches before telling them that he's dropping the case and handing it off to someone else, due to a conflict of interest. "Whose ass are we gonna kick now?" Harvey asks eagerly. Robert says it'll be an old classmate of his. "Let me guess," Jessica says. "Daniel Hardman." And given the way the episode ended right after she said that, I'd say that was a pretty good guess.
