Nikki sits in her room and looks through some old albums from the garage. Johnny notes that one particular album saved his life the summer he got dumped by some girl. He notices that Nikki is upset, and guesses that Goofy didn't call yet. Nikki says that she thought they had a great time the night before Goofy left. For a second, I thought that she was going to say they had sex. Johnny realizes that your actions have an impact on other people, which you'd think he would've learned before he was forty. Nikki puts on "Missing You" by John Waite and hunkers down for a good pity party.
Jay confesses to Sun and the Giant Samoan that he's been "the ultimate weekend Barney since '97." Sun says that the look on Jay's face reminds him why they are out there, which is to have fun. The Giant Samoan gives us some of his grandfather's Samoan wisdom, which translates to, "It's all good, bro!" A giant wave comes up, and Jay takes a run. And then the Tiki Idol takes over and Jay goes under. Erica watches anxiously from the beach. Jay finally surfaces, but he can't put any weight on one leg. I think a shark ate his ankle! Bradin and Erica run out to help Jay walk back up on the beach.
Erica starts packing up her things as Jay walks up, wearing an air cast on his ankle, and asks if she saw him out there surfing. Erica, upset, says that he broke his ankle. Jay asks what's wrong. Erica sighs that she helped Cricket and Sun kidnap him, and then he got hurt. Jay says that he knows he won't compete again, but that he got back a part of himself, with Erica's help. Erica says that watching Jay get hurt brought up her feelings about losing her dad. Jay promises that she won't lose him. Aw, those crazy surfer lovebirds. Blech.
The remaining members of the beach house eat breakfast and act politely toward one another. Ava is freaked out and threatens to rip up the chart. Susannah says that the chart is working, and Nikki says that the chart is fun. Derrick says that he found his GameBoy, and that Nikki found her missing CDs and nail polish. Johnny says that he grew up in chaos, and that he finds the order relaxing. Susannah says that having a chart doesn't make them into her father. Hasn't Ava already been convinced of this? Ava relents, but then says that they forgot to schedule in time for fun. Ava suggests that they take a road trip to go see Jay compete. Derrick takes off, like, is he going to run up there? Johnny tells him to wait until breakfast is over.
Jay sits on the beach and watches the Giant Samoan surf. Sun sits next to Jay and says that he owes Jay for bringing the mojo back. Sun says that if Jay disappears again, they'll find him. And then they do that "And the rest is up to you" song and dance thing again and I'm blind. Sun runs out into the water. Bradin trots up and sits down. Jay says that it's hard being on the surfing circuit. Then he starts talking about how great his surfboard is, before bequeathing it to Bradin. Jay hands the board over. Bradin isn't sure he should accept it. Jay says that he's been watching Bradin surf, and that Bradin has the skill to compete if he wants. Jay offers to help Bradin get better. Bradin smiles and runs into the water with his new surfboard.
