...MONTAGE! "Wheeeeee!" I do so love a good montage. "Me too! [Slurp!]" Our Intrepid Heroes load about a dozen metal buckets with salt, nails, and propane canisters, distribute those buckets around the store, then wire everything together through a series of ever-larger propane canisters until the whole thing links into the doorbell Jo's to use as a trigger, which Dean gently places into Jo's hand. "This is it," he whispers, visibly struggling to hold his emotions in check. "I'll see you on the other side," he offers in a half-hearted joke, "probably sooner than later." Jo, despite the waves of pain that continue to crash over her, responds in kind, passing him a sawed-off shotgun and cracking, "Make it later." She offers him a brave little smile, and it suddenly becomes too much for him. He leans in to press The Almighty Ducky Lips against her forehead, and beneath him, her defiantly resolute expression just crumbles, and for the briefest of moments, she lets us know she's feeling the full weight of all of her life's missed opportunities, and of all the opportunities she'll never get in the future, and I...I...I think I have something in my eye. "[Sniff!]" Oh, don't you start, too, Raoul, or I'll never make it through the next three minutes. "I can't help it! [Whimper!] Where's the Kleenex?!" Here you go, friend of friends. "Thanks! [HONK!] [Slurp!]" I told you you'd need a cocktail before this was over. "You were right! [Sniffle!] [HONK!] [HONK!] [Slurp!]"

Next up to say goodbye is Ellen, and oh, I can't handle this at all. She kneels at her daughter's side, and through a masterful exchange of silent looks, Samantha Ferris makes Ellen Harvelle's intentions clear. "Mom, no!" Jo cries, dissolving into tears. "Someone's got to let them in," Ellen quietly replies, "and like you said, you're not moving." There's the briefest of reaction shots from Sam and Dean, but this scene is all about the ladies, and the camera quite properly abandons Our Intrepid Heroes to focus on Ellen as she continues, "You got me, Jo, and you're right -- this is important, but I will never leave you here alone." And I...I...I think I have something EVEN BIGGER in my eye. DAMN YOU, KRIPKE! "[WAIL!] [HONK!] [HONK!] [Sniffle!] [Slurp!]" "Get on, now, boys!" Ellen orders and, upon sensing them hesitating behind her back, she repeats, "I said go!" Our Intrepid Heroes shuffle off, but Ellen suddenly calls out one last time: "And Dean? Kick it in the ass!" "Hooray! [Sniffle!] [Slurp!]" "Don't miss," she finishes, gifting him with a final smile, and after A Very Touching Moment Indeed, Dean slinks with Sam towards the building's roof.
