The Hardy Boys Are Not the Boss of Each Other

Sam walks the hall. Dean and J.V. walk the halls. Dean stops J.V. to ask, "You've seen a lot of horror movies, yeah? Do me a favor, next time you see one? Pay attention. When someone says a place is haunted? Don't go in." And we have number ten, ladies and gentlemen! This scene was artfully shot so that we're looking at the two of them framed by a window of paned glass. The contrast is nice.

Sam turns a corner to find Gavin lying on the floor. Gavin tells him that he must have fallen while running. When Sam asks from what, Gavin tells him about the Makeout Ghost. Sam wants to clarify: "But she didn't hurt you? Physically?" Gavin goes Tiger Beat for a minute: "Dude! She kissed me! I'm scarred for life." Turns out the Makeout Ghost also tried to whisper something in Gavin's ear -- though I was there when it happened, and I don't remember that -- but he doesn't know what it was.

Dean and J.V. with the walking. Of the hallways. The flashlight with the flickering. Dean gets out his Zippo when J.V. says, "Ow, you're hurting my arm." Dean turns around, and it is clear that he is not the one grabbing her. Brief moment of panic before J.V. gets whisked away and locked in a room off the hallway. Dean struggles to open the door.

Commercials. Dean continues to struggle with the door, but this door will not yield to him like most doors do. J.V. screams her little apple-cheeks off and bangs on the door. We see a ghost lurking behind J.V. as Dean tries to crowbar the door open. She turns and finds the ghost as well, and the ghost is Chris Robinson! Sam and Gavin come running down the hall as Dean crowbars and J.V. screams, "Help me!" The ghost of Chris Robinson zombies toward J.V., who has pressed herself against the wall in a very angsty Godsmack-video sort of way. Sam, interfering motherfucker that he is, yells to J.V. that she has to face the ghost of Chris Robinson because the spirits aren't trying to hurt them, but instead just want to communicate. All right, if by "communicate" you mean "get their gross ghost heads blown off by a shotgun." I apologize for not caring about hurting an ugly ghost's feelings. J.V. finally gets the gumption to look at the ghost that is hovering about three inches from her face; the ghost leans in and whispers something to her. The boys wait to hear from her inside when the door swings open and J.V. falls into the arms of Gayvin. She tells them the ghost whispered "137" in her ear. Dean tells Sam to get the teens out of the asylum while he goes and checks out Room 137.Sam and the teens walk. Down a hallway, of course. J.V. asks Sam how he and his brother "know about all this ghost stuff, anyway?" Sam tells her that "it's kind of our job" and when J.V. asks, "Why would anyone want a job like that?" Sam replies that he "had a crappy guidance counselor." Well, so did I -- she suggested I might make a good landscaper -- but I went to the University of Virginia and am now, well…am now making no money studying and writing about arcane nineteenth-century American literature, which begs the question "why would anyone want a job like that," so I guess it does all go back to those damn guidance counselors. J.V. really rubs it in by asking, "And Dean? He's your boss?" which causes Sam to look at her in disbelief, pausing before saying, "No."
