We finally get a peek at what Crowley's been doing to all of those Alphas and Betas and whatevers and such that Our Intrepid Heroes have been snagging for the adorable little bastard all season long, and as you might expect, it's not pretty. Everyone's favorite demon has been squirreling the beasties away in what looks like an abandoned asylum and torturing them for Purgatory's location. Unfortunately for him, said beasties either honestly don't know where Purgatory is, or they're unusually determined to keep its coordinates secret, so Crowley's had little choice but to decapitate many of them with a super-fancy sword forged from iridium. It's delightfully gore-tastic, even if we never do get to see Crowley flay some shapeshifting toddlers alive like he promised.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are growing increasingly impatient with their current demonically-flavored arrangement, so when everybody's favorite demonette Meg shows up with a couple of bruisers to lash Our Intrepid Heroes to chairs and mock them, the boys quickly decide to propose the following deal: They'll help Meg and her minions slaughter Crowley as revenge for the latter's thwarting of Lucifer last season if Meg and the minions first secure Sam's soul. Just go with it. Castiel somehow gets his sweet little angelic behind involved in the entire mess, and before we know it, the boys plus the demons plus the angel are trooping over to Crowley's secret monster asylum -- whose location they managed to wrangle from Zombie Grandpa, by the way -- to start cracking some skulls.
Alas, Zombie Grandpa's actually been working as a double agent because Crowley promised to resurrect Burnt Mary (no, seriously), so Meg's minions get torn asunder by Crowley's hellhound, and Castiel gets zapped back up to Heaven, and Our Intrepid Heroes get something obnoxious done to them, I'm sure, until everyone finds some witty way out of their latest wacky predicament, and the next thing we know, Zombie Grandpa's eating dirt, lead, vengeance, and more or less everything else except death, because we've got to put up with his undead zombie ass for another couple of episodes. Or so it seems.
And in the end, Darling Sammy wants nothing to do with his crapped-out little soul, which as you'll recall has been left in some cage with Lucifer, Michael and the remains both earthly and otherwise of Our Intrepid Heroes' worthless bastard of a half-brother, and you know what? Good for him! After all, seeing how totally awesome Darling Sammy's become since he left his tawdry little eternal bits behind, why would he or anyone else want that goddamned tedious and annoying shit back?

Rattle, Rattle Tacky Blue Glitter THEN! Once upon a time, there was a sassy demonette named Meg, who was quite awesomely used as some sort of Hell-sent meat carpet by My Sweet Baboo after she rather rudely offed the late and much lamented Ellen and Jo Harvelle. There were also Alphas, about whom much lore had been written, though we have to take Zombie Grandpa's word for all that. And finally, there was Crowley, who used to be in charge of the world's various crossroads before being promoted to King Of All Hell, a position he's been exploiting to locate Purgatory's current coordinates for some infernal reason or another. Oh, and Darling Sammy's still lacking a soul, though to be honest with you, no one but Dean seems to miss it. Got all that? Excellent, 'cause it's time once again for the...
...Rattle, Rattle Tacky Blue Glitter NOW! The camera opens up on Crowley's battered and blood-streaked face, and his torso, at least, has been firmly secured to a chair with several lengths of iron chain. "I told you," he wearily sighs, "I don't know anything about it." Barely have those words left his lips when some off-camera presence whaps him upside the head with an aluminum baseball bat. "VIOLENCE!" shrieks Raoul The Big Gay Supernatural Dragon, writhing about atop his overstuffed armchair with delight over this gift of the good stuff so early in the episode. "WANTON ACTS OF UNREPENTANT...! Wait a minute! Why are there two of him?!" An excellent question, my faithful recapping companion, and one I'm assuming has arisen due to the fact that another Crowley has just entered the frame? "It has!" You'll pardon me, I'm sure, while I attempt to explain. "By all means! Do!" Well, you see, the real Crowley -- the one holding the aluminum baseball bat, with which he has just clobbered the fake Crowley -- is apparently torturing a shapeshifter of some species in order to determine Purgatory's current coordinates. "Oh!" Raoul shrieks again, a perfectly manicured paw fluttering up to his chest as a deeply unnerving smile passes across his altogether impressive maw. "This charming little Friday-evening divertissement is so clever sometimes!" I want to think you meant that as a compliment, friend of friends. "I'm certain you do!" Then, I shall assume as much, and get back to the scene at hand? "Assume away, you agreeable little man!" You're starting to freak me out, Raoul. "Hee!"
