Zombie Owen pauses from his grisly task to rise up and face his mother, and as a set of screaming strings goes nuts on the soundtrack, Zombie Owen steps towards Sheriff Mills dragging -- get this -- nine feet of his father's small intestine behind him! "Glalalalalalaalallalalalllaalalalah!" Sheriff Mills would scream, I'm sure, but Darling Sammy leaps into the frame at this moment to drag her out of the house. After a last, lingering shot of Zombie Owen's blood-smeared face, we join the surviving adults out on the lawn, where Sam shouts that Sioux Falls is in danger, and that he needs Sheriff Mills to focus upon that fact rather than upon the hideous revenant she left back in her living room. To her immense credit, Sheriff Mills manages to pull herself together and the two quickly plan to corral the remaining non-zombified townsfolk in the county jail, which Sheriff Mills claims is the safest place in town. While I'm sure Darling Sammy knows better, he wisely chooses to remain quiet about recent unfortunate events in Colorado in favor of offing Zombie Owen. I should probably note that the bit that follows parallels the last scene of "Heart" -- with Sheriff Mills in the role of Dashing El Deano, of course -- but I've a sneaking suspicion I'd be insulting the earlier episode by comparing it to this one, so forget I ever opened my big mouth about it. "Consider it done!" I'm so glad you recovered so quickly this time around, friend of friends, because I wouldn't want you to miss what happens next. "Oh, goody!"
