The Emporium Of Sadistic Clichés. Yes, gentle reader, we've arrived back at that one particular Tuesday in a childhood that was evidently full of them, and long story short, Abusive Daddy slaps Doormat Mommy around until Bullet-Brained Bobby starts screaming at him, berating Abusive Daddy for the latter's miserable parenting skills before proudly asserting, "As fate would have it, I adopted two boys, and they grew up great! They grew up heroes! So, you can go to Hell!" Again, the misty-eyed thing's just not happening for me this evening, so let's skip ahead to rejoin...
...Our Actual Intrepid Heroes back in The Hammonton Hospital Of Horrors. Seems Soon-To-Be-Dead Bobby's waking up! Well, sort of. His condition's actually improved to the point where the doctors have decided to try operating on the broken half of his brain, and the lead physician tells Sam and Dean, "If you want to see him, I'd squeeze in there quick." Our Actual Intrepid Heroes motor on over just as the rest of us hop back to...
...The Emporium Of Sadistic Clichés, where Wee Bobby pops up from out of nowhere with a rifle and shoots Abusive Daddy -- wait for it -- in the head. "What did you do?" Wee Bobby's Mother whimpers before hissing, "God is gonna punish you!" and we now have an explanation for Wee Bobby's strange line way back on the steps of that rain-soaked church a thousand years ago. Bullet-Brained Bobby steps forward to assure his younger self, "You did what you had to do," and I'm not sure how those heartfelt words of support are supposed to help Wee Bobby at all, but whatever, because Bullet-Brained Bobby's next line is all kinds of awesome: "Now, go get a shovel. Bury the old man out behind the woodshed." Daaaaaaaaaaaamn! Frosty! And now that I think about it, wasn't Wee Bobby running back to the house from that very same woodshed the first time we saw him? And wasn't he spattered with mud and filth on the steps of the church? Were we really seeing Wee Bobby's story told backwards all evening, or have I just watched too many goddamned Doctor Who episodes over the last six years? Probably the latter, though the child they've had playing Wee Bobby has been so affectless and wooden throughout, I don't think I'll ever be sure.
