Sam picks up his phone, and when Sarah answers, his voice cracks like a twelve-year-old. Dean peeks at his little brother through his fake-closed eyes and smirks. Sam's side of the conversation is pretty lame, but after he mentions that he's interested in maybe buying the painting he suddenly stands up very stiffly: "What? Who'd you sell it to? Sarah, I need an address right now."
Inside a cozy sitting room, a fire burns in the fireplace, and an old lady, Evelyn, sits next to a Tiffany lamp reading and drinking tea. How civilized! How also almost dead! The painting hangs above the fireplace, and we hear that squishy watery sound as the father's face turns to look at Evelyn. She takes off her reading glasses and places them on the table in front of her. We get a close-up of these glasses as the reflection of a straight razor passes through each of the lenses, and then a shot of Evelyn from above just as she turns her head to look up and sucks her breath in for a scream...and we fade to black with a sound that's less Metal Teeth Chomp and more Metal Sword Unsheathing.
Commercials. Every time I see one of those Revlon ads with Susan Sarandon and Julianne Moore powdering their noses together and laughing so exaggeratedly at how beautiful they each are, I can't help imagining that immediately before and after the shots, those two bitches are rolling around on the ground, trying to rip each other's wigs off. Julianne has her teeth clamped into a pit-bull grip on Susan's ear and is all "raarrraaarr" shaking her head from side to side and the director's like, "Uh, Tony? Could you please separate them? Okay, great. Roll camera!" Then they get in their chairs, do their bit with the laughing and the powdering, until "Thanks, ladies. That's a wrap!" and then they're immediately on the ground again, Susan's broken the heel of her right Blahnik, and Julianne's hem is all ripped as she windmills her arms at Susan but Susan is holding the tiny bitch effectively at arm's length. But maybe that's just me, though.
Outside Evelyn's house. The Metallicar zooms up. Sarah is there, too, insisting on knowing what is going on and how Evelyn is in danger. The boys are barely paying attention to her, running around the porch trying to get in. Dean declares he has to pick the lock and Sarah asks if they are burglars. Sam laughs, "I wish it were that simple," and tells her to wait in the car. But she is Sassy & Modern and she replies, "The hell I will!" They get inside and see Evelyn sitting still by the now-extinguished fire. They keep calling "Evelyn?" as they move closer, but she doesn't respond. Sarah reaches out her hand toward Evelyn's shoulder, and before Sam's warning to stop can register, she touches the old woman...whose head promptly falls backward with another squish, her neck sliced from ear to ear. Sarah screams bloody hell, and the camera does a seventies double zoom in on Isaiah's evil head turning to glare out from the painting. Sarah screams, "Oh my god! Oh my god!"
