Commercials. The boys are both tied up and bloody. Dean tells Sam that his girlfriend is a bitch. Sam realizes aloud that the whole thing has been a setup. Short Lip giggles cutely. She confirms that making both victims be from Lawrence was all part of the plan to draw the boys in. Sam accuses her of killing those two people for nothing, and Short Lip cools, "Baby, I've killed a lot more for a lot less." Hard to think of what could be "less" than "nothing," but here is neither the time nor place for Nietzschean contemplation. Dean wonders why she doesn't kill them already, forcing her to explain what we all realize by now: "This trap isn't for you." Sam finally puts it together -- Stanford needs to look into its admissions standards, apparently -- and worries, "Dad. It's a trap for Dad." Dean tries to fake his way out of this, pretending like he hasn't called his Daddy for help, and assuring Short Lip that their dad would never walk into a trap like this. Short Lip, here playing the role of villain who reveals far too much about her plan to her victims (see: Action Films, Rules of; and Bruckheimer, Jerry), stalks over to Dean and shows that she knows their father's weakness is his boys. She continues, "I happen to know he is in town. And he'll come and try to save you. And then the daevas will kill everybody." Dean thinks there's no way his father will succumb to a bunch of shadows, allowing Short Lip to exposit: "The daevas are in the room. They're invisible. Their shadows are just the only part you can see." Sam interrupts and asks why Short Lip is doing this to them. She replies that she's just like them, she does what she does for "loyalty. Love. Like the love you had for Mommy. And Jess." Sam tells her to go to hell, and she fake-cools, yet again, "Baby, I'm already there." Gah. What is she, some sort of demented lounge act? Short Lip then crawls over to Sam, straddles him, and starts sniffing around and whispering in his ear, telling him they can still have some "dirty fun." Yes, this is so sexy, what with Sam's BLOODY HEAD WOUND dripping everywhere. She bites his neck, and he lets her, we see, to give Dean some time to get out of his ropes. Only Dean lets his knife clink, which catches Short Lip's attention. I'm really confused about whether she has any supernatural powers, but it seems odd that she wouldn't have a handle on Dean's attempt to escape. She approaches him slowly and grabs his knife out of his hand. She returns to her preferred activity of molesting Head Wound Sammy, who lets the charade go on for another minute before grabbing her and head-butting her to the ground. He'd used his knife to saw through the ropes while she was futzing around. Sam lets out a yelp of pain after using his fat noggin as a weapon, but obeys Dean when the latter instructs him to destroy the altar.
