...meet with the head of Flying Wiccan Press instead. Just so you know, they never mention it in the episode, but the publisher -- played by Keegan Connor Tracy, who last appeared on Supernatural as a corpse -- is named "Sera Siege," and sweet Jesus, these self-referential episodes are heavy on the goddamned HTML links. Thanks for nothing, Shit Man! ANY-way, Sera Siege's post-Flying Wiccan Press office features several large originals of her signature series' cover art, along with a full, mint-condition set of the books themselves, so I'm thinking she's either still using a failed book series as her calling card for potential authors -- in which case, good luck in your future endeavors, honey -- or she's as overinvested in the titles as those scary online fans. Turns out it's the latter, of course. "These books," she sighs fondly, drawing a hand across the volumes. "You know, they never got the attention they deserved -- all anyone wants to read anymore is that romance crap. You know, 'Doctor Sexy MD'?" The LYING LIARS WHO LIE, here posing as reporters for a literary journal, or something, commiserate appropriately, and Darling Sammy hopes the article they're about to never write, ever, will "shed some light on an underappreciated gem." Ms. Siege perks up alarmingly at this notion, agreeing that any positive press would probably allow her to resurrect Supernatural's run. "No!" Dim Dean shouts a little too quickly, so eager is he to ensure the books' demise, but he manages to pull it together and turn on his considerable charm, sweet-talking Sera into believing he thinks "it's such a complete series" as it is, "what with Dean going to Hell and all." Heh. Sera melts instantly. "Oh, my God, that was one of my favorite ones!" she squeals, getting all wild-eyed and breathy and overemotional as she explains, "Because Dean was so...strong! And sad and brave, and Sam? I mean, the best parts are when they cry!" Hee. Our Intrepid Heroes widen their eyes at the publisher's rapid and unexpected mental collapse as Sera, oblivious to their "Bitch Crazy!" eyes, continues, almost weeping herself at the beautiful memory, "You know, like in 'Heart' when Sam had to kill Madison, the first woman since Jessica he really loved?" "And in 'Home'!" she whimpers, lunging to cling to Actual Dean's actual arm. "When Dean had to call John and ask him for help?" Sera pulls that little fluttery-hand-beneath-the-face gesture in an attempt to compose herself, and she turns away from them to assert, "If only real men were so open and in touch with their feelings!" She spins back around at this to assure Actual Dean, "No offense, but how often do you cry like that, huh?" HA! Dig up the goddamn links yourself, honey.
