The next heat is Erik, Malcolm, Brenda, and Eddie. Phillip should be competing, but he explains that he's going to sit this one out because he had a childhood near-drowning incident and this challenge freaks him out. I don't know whether or not to believe that, since Phillip is generally so full of shit, but who cares? It speaks volumes towards how comfortable Phillip is at this point. Anyway, Malcolm finishes first. Eddie should be second but he misses getting his ring on the post, which allows Brenda to sneak into second place.
So the final round is Reynold, Malcolm, Brenda, and Andrea. This time they have to go five times around, instead of two. The women drop behind pretty quickly, but Malcolm and Reynold are neck-and-neck. Reynold takes a lead somewhere on the third round and doesn't let up, so he wins immunity.
The tribe returns to their camp. Reynold is wiped out from the challenge, but he tells everyone that he respects them. He interviews that he does NOT respect Phillip. Thanks for the respect update, Reynold. Phillip interviews the current strategy: they are going to split the vote between Malcolm and Eddie, so if either of them has and plays an idol, the other goes home. Phillip is pretty sure that Malcolm doesn't have an idol. Heh.
Malcolm, Eddie, and Reynold decide to go looking for a Hidden Immunity Idol, in case Reynold's was put back into play. Malcolm has a strong sense of where it might be, and it also makes sense that the producers would hide it while they players were away at a challenge. Back at camp, Phillip is telling everyone about his tale of swimming trauma, and no one cares. Brenda pretends to care, but you know she doesn't. Meanwhile, Dawn and Andrea are like, "We should go look for the Idol." No shit. They should ALL be looking. Fuck those lazybones.
Dawn and Andrea meet up with Malcolm and they all wander around and poke into rocks and logs and whatnot. At least now they're using sticks to do their poking; it always made me nervous when people would reach blindly into caves with bare hands. Dawn jokingly tells Malcolm that if he finds the idol in the rock wall, let her know and she'll come help him get it out. Malcolm keeps looking in every crack and depression and suddenly stops as Dawn blathers on about how they need a clue. He reaches in and pulls out an idol. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), Andrea and Dawn were right there so Malcolm couldn't hide his discovery. Dawn and Andrea begrudgingly congratulate him, and Andrea interviews that Malcolm was supposed to go home, but now it will have to be Eddie. Poor Eddie.
