Harry Reems, Marriage Counselor

Back at said party, Sylvia is thanking all the attendees for coming, and thanking the hosts. We get a shot composed thusly: Gail, in a dress cut-up-to-there, getting progressively hammered, Trina in the center, smiling graciously, Janet behind her on the right, prim but smiling at Trina. When Trina prompts a round of applause for Harry, Janet's clapping as hard as any of them; Harry sees her doing so and smiles. As Sylvia natters on, Bruce and Roger -- still in their matching, monogrammed bowling shirts -- barge on in. Roger sees Janet; Bruce heads off looking for Susan.

Trina announces that the party's ending with a very special treat: a showing of Deep Throat. Sadly, it seems like Susan's going to miss a second viewing, as Bruce has just popped over to where she's standing and ordered, "Get your things. We're going home." Roger and Janet's reunion is considerably gentler: she asks, "Roger! What are you doing here?" and he smiles, "What am I doing here? You okay?" Janet sure is. Roger says, "They're about to show the movie, so we'd better go." Janet grabs her gimlet and asks, "It's just a movie, Roger -- how bad can it be?" The Thompsons are going to be watching a porn movie!

Meanwhile, the Millers are arguing. Bruce is really, really ticked that Susan came to the party, and asks if her learning about the issue was really more important than him and his wishes. Unfortunately, Harry comes over right then and tells Bruce, "Come on, man, be cool. If she wants to stay, she should stay." Bruce snaps, "Oh, shut up, Harry." Susan is really peeved now. She's staying. Bruce storms off. He's so mad, he even gives his man-crush Tom the hand as he heads out the door.
