Nat and Kat pound through the subway station, but still miss the next train out. Jill and Thomas are still feeling good about not seeing any other teams. "All right Tom," they both say, high-fiving. Wait, who's Tom?

Brook and Claire get out of their illegal cab at the ice rink and then we see them struggling into the suits, which they really don't care for. In fact, Brook calls the neck-to-toe latex/spandex blend "disgusting" and "not the Brook & Claire flair." Jill and Thomas get off the subway and run to the stadium, where they see their gear waiting on a bench for them -- and Brook and Claire somehow already there, although they can't figure out how. They hurry to get dressed, and Jill calls to Thomas to ask if he's almost ready. "Yes, I'm putting my skates on, shut up!" he yells. They clonk out to the ice in what will either be a triumph or yet another obscure sequel to The Cutting Edge.

Nick and Vicki's guide is exiting the freeway as Vicki says, "It's better than nothing, at least they're taking us." "Yeah, we'll see," Nick says a bit more doubtfully. They stop at a convenience store and their leader comes up to their car and says, "I need to toilet!" Which is cool with Nick and Vicki, because they need to as well. They're back in their car first, eating stuff from the store, when their guides come to the window and offer them additional snacks. "Beautiful woman, I give for you," the taller one says. Finally their guides head back to their car, and Nick tells Vicki, "He wants you. I knew you were good for something." Hey, you haven't earned the benefit of the doubt back on cracks like that, buddy. One of their guides takes a nice long stretch. I've been on road trips to family reunions with more urgency than this.

Brook and Claire get on the ice, with a couple of actual speed skaters already on there doing laps, although probably not at top speed because that would be a good way to kill someone. As Brook does the first lap, a very unsteady Claire is paranoid that Brook's going to push her from behind like they see the pros doing, but Brook just gives her a little tag. Then we see how the pros do it. It's not just a little tag, but if Brook tried that with Claire there would be severed fingers all over the ice before we knew it.
