Jen kills the engine of her and Kisha's car while trying to transport their bride. Kisha says their bride must be wondering what's taking so long to get her to the church. "She does look nice in her wedding dress, though," she adds. And thanks to Jen, she's moving slowly enough so that everyone has plenty of time to admire her.
Meanwhile, Jodi and Christie have spotted a church with gold minarets, way out in the country. They thank their guide for leading them there and send him on his way. "I have no idea what she's saying to us," Jodi says of their bride as they get out of the car. Well, she's saying you're at the wrong church, geniuses. Turns out that lifeline was connected to an anchor.
But after the ads, they go inside the church anyway, and confirm with a very confused staffer that no, this is not where they're supposed to be. She draws a little map for them on their clue sheet, and sends them on their way. "We'd be lousy wedding planners," Christie says as they cross the churchyard back to their car, their bride looking quite cold. Well, they're lousy Amazing Racers, so there's that. In the car, Christie says, "She thinks we're trying to kill her. And she's not said any of that, I can just tell." Actually, I think she might be planning how to kill them.
Across town, Margie spots the giant library and waves out her window to the cheerleaders following behind them, while Luke holds up an illegible handwritten sign. "So we're going to run into the liberry [sic], we're going to find a clue," says the cheerleader in the back seat. Victor skids over some ice as he and Tammy arrive in third place, and as the teams open their clues, suddenly we're looking at an extreme close-up of Phil's face as he narrates, "In this Road Block, one person must participate in a winter marathon the way only the bravest locals do: in their underwear." This as the camera zooms out to reveal that Phil's wearing a scarf, boots, and a pair of black boxer briefs. Phil looks to be in pretty good shape, by the way. And oh, my goodness, am I glad I don't have to moderate the forums this week. Before starting the run, the Racer has to partner with two locals and spend ten minutes warming up before running 1.4 miles, right to the Pit Stop, where their partner will be waiting. For the second leg in a row, a theater is serving as the Pit Stop, in this case the Novosibirsk Ballet and Opera Theater. From the stage, a decently covered Phil tells us that this theater is "the largest in all of Russia." And the last team to check in may be eliminated. Emphasis on "may."
