I'm actually surprised that the koala isn't wearing a tiny t-shirt that says, "Throw Another Shrimp On The Barbie." Finally, we come to rest in Brisbane. The lead flight lands, and the three teams deplane. David voices over that nobody can figure out where Al and ClownJon are, or what they've done. Reichen mentions that it's a "very tense leg." Everyone hauls ass through the airport, and Reichen is notably back in the yellow shorts again. Argh, those shorts. Burn, burn, burn! The last person to clear off the plane is BuffJon, leaving Kelly to straggle behind waiting for him. Outside, Jeff and David get in a cab, obviously relieved to be able to just talk to their cabbie in their native tongue. And, of course, happy not to accidentally wander into a broom closet. Once they're on their way, David reveals that since this is the last available Fast Forward, he and Jeff have decided to pursue it. Phil explains the Fast Forward, but does something he almost never does by specifically mentioning that while the Fast Forward does give a team an advantage, it does not guarantee a first-place finish. If you are getting the idea that those of us who analyze the patter for patterns are specifically being targeted this season with feints and fake-outs in every direction, I think you are right. Perhaps if I didn't want confusion, I shouldn't have made the "militaristic precision" crack. Maybe it's my fault. Anyway, Phil explains that to claim the FF, the team must drive an hour away to a beach where they will perform a "surf rescue" by dragging a "drowning swimmer" onto a board and paddling her in. Incidentally, the Fast Forward clue that the Exposition Hands actually pulls out of the envelope is the one that Danny and Oswald used in season two about looking for the "the spot where the train tracks used to be," so apparently, they're not exactly bringing in the hands to work on a weekly basis. David voices over as they cab it to the beach that Jeff is a surfer, so they thought the surf/swim theme would be well-suited to them. It's also a task that doesn't focus too heavily on a "finding" type of task, so it's well-suited to them in that regard as well.
