A good Samaritan has stopped for Maiya, and, listening to her pleas, attaches a rope from his truck to her small SUV and hauls it out of the sand while she stands by. A pull and a grateful hug later, she's on her way again. This is why people from other countries call us Yanks.

Clown Dave lands and Cherie runs up saying, "Hey Dave, we're not last!" He takes the news better than do Misa and Fitness, standing there waiting for their partners. At some point after the Clowns leave, Danny arrives to pick up Fitness and they leave in ninth place, then Kerri and Stacy reunite and leave in tenth. Misa's still waiting, officially in last place. Again.

Twins Elliot and Andrew arrive at the empanada competition and join in, while JJ compares his own work to that famous chef, Boyardee. But the empanada champion is still not satisfied with Art's work, leading to some bickering between the border patrol guys. Back at the skydiving site, Maiya finally rejoins Misa, who says, "Good to see you, let's go, we gotta hustle." Thus, they hustle. At the empanada contest, Other Rachel and Dave are working well together, while Rachel is done and Brendon asks her to count his while he finishes up. The other teams are working away, and Team Big Brother calls for a check. Rachel interviews about how much they want the Express Pass, but their empanadas are not up to snuff (clearly the empanada judge was not appropriately briefed). Neither are those of Team Border Patrol, and in an interview, they refer to the judge as the "empanada Nazi." Oh, come on, you two -- "empaNazi" was right there. How hard is this? Other Rachel and Dave are actually the first team to get approval and complete the task, but Brendon and Rachel are close behind. Not close enough, though, because the Pit Stop clue reads, in its entirety, "Search the grounds for Phil." He's right there at the location, out on a grassy courtyard with a male and female greeter and a straw fedora, pointing to the approaching Rachel and Dave. "Jump on that mat, guys," he tells them, because there's going to be none of that TAR19 stopping right in front of the mat this season. The male greeter welcomes them, and Phil tells them they're team number one. Obviously they're pretty happy and Other Rachel can't wait to get that Express Pass, which Phil calls "a great piece of power in your pocket" as he hands it over. "A little perverse, but we'll take it," Dave says. Brendon and Rachel come running up, and Rachel says, "Shoot! Congratulations, guys." Look who's learning sportsmanship! Of course, only one of those two things she just said sounded remotely convincing. Phil tells them they're team number two, and they act happy about it right now when we all know they're just going to cry in the hammock later.
