Now, we track the arrival of the lead shuttle at its destination at the really, really big glacier. When they get there, Bolo and Lori are the first to rip the clue that tells them to ride a snowmobile two and a half miles to a camping area where they'll stay overnight. Each tent is marked with a shuttle departure time for tomorrow morning to leave the glacier. There are four departure times available -- 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, and 11:30. And the tent where you rip your ticket will be the tent where you sleep, so you want to choose carefully. Lena and Kristy leave in second place, while Bolo and Lori and Hayden and Aaron leave in third. But before they go, Lena notices something. "I don't sleep in tents," she mutters. In an interview, she says that she likes the fine things in life, and doesn't like "roughing it." Or traveling, probably. Or airplanes. Or anything "amazing." Or stuff where you have to be in a hurry. I love it when people are in it for all the right reasons.
Teams zoom across the glacier in their snowmobiles.
And here is shuttle #2, with Kris and Jon, Hornio, and Brooklyn. And behind it, the third one, with Gus and Hera, Nuance, and Spazpants. Back at the start, Don and MJ are signing up for the fourth and "final" shuttle. They wonder if they're the last team. The answer, of course, is no, because the last team is Meredith and Maria. Who haven't even made the waterfall yet. I have a terrible feeling they're going to be the first team to ever circle the globe in the wrong direction. They find it at last, and get the glacier clue. At least they believe that they know how to get there.
Lori and Bolo hop off at the camping area and start to search the tents. They find the 10:00 AM departure. Kristy and Lena take a 10:30 without even checking to see whether that's the best time. Damn. They're lucky that wasn't worse, because that is not smart. When Hayden and Aaron show up, they find the 10:00. Lena and Kristy figure out that they should have looked at least a little bit. "It's disappointing," one of them says. Again, I would tag them as people who don't seem to have seen the show, because this same arrangement has popped up in the first leg for a couple of seasons, and you ought to know that you have to hunt for the best time.
