Bill: Or do they care? [laughs]
Joe: Or should we burn it? [laughs]
Miss Alli: [laughing] We will do it, we will do the poll, there's no question. So how did y'all stay so much cleaner than everybody else?
Bill: We were very fastidious. That was, you know, everybody else would be partying, you know, when we'd get to a pit stop, you know, they'd always throw a nice party for us. And Joe and Bill would be -- we'd do our interviews, that was, like, number-one priority when you got to a pit stop is you'd do your interviews, you know, your exit pit-stop interview, and then we'd go wash our clothes. And you know how you block a sweater? You probably would know that, you have to keep things, and you -- you stretch it out, lay it down…
Miss Alli: Yep, yep.
Bill: I mean, I blocked all of our clothes, and then we rolled everything -- you know, I'm sure it wasn't really an intimidation thing, but we did get -- the best comment during the race was, like, Nancy, one time, I think it was in Italy when we were, we had -- I had finished apologizing to her, and she -- we started having friendly chatter again, and she goes, you know, 'cause we were pulling stuff out of our backpacks, she goes [Nancy-style drawl], "That's a magic backpack! How do you keep pullin' stuff out of there? We just -- we cannot believe how many outfits you boys have…"
Joe: It was a magic backpack! We had the smallest backpacks of anybody. I think Rob and Brennan brought a tent, somebody else brought a frying pan, and they were going to bring Rollerblades!
Bill: Yeah, Rollerblades!
Joe: They actually left their Rollerblades in New York City at the last minute, but I'm thinking, "Yeah! Bring those! Bring those! You carry those all around the world." [They both laugh.] And generally, everybody dumped, I would say a quarter of what they were carrying when we got to Paris. We had a long pit stop in Paris, and everybody just threw lots of stuff away.
Miss Alli: 'Cause I'm thinkin' the rest of those people, the rest of those people I'm thinking smelled pretty bad.
Bill: Yeah. Yeah, we bought cologne, I mean, that was -- we had some specific things…we packed, really, our backpacks were packed for television, not for camping. [laughs]
Joe: Yeah, I mean, you're going to be on television the whole time, the thing you want to do is you want to wash your hair every opportunity. And shave…
