Driven Mad

At the train station, Team Austin, the goat farmers, Abbie & Grabby (thus henceforth known to me as Team Grabbie) and the Chippendales show up and run for the ticket counter. It soon develops that the next train to Bangil is at 7:36, which can't be far off. All four teams secure tickets.

Meanwhile, the twin in white (Nadiya, it turns out) is gathering up armloads of dishes like firewood as her sister yells from outside, "Come on, Twinny, feed the hungry people! Let's go!" At some point I'm going to have to sit down and figure out if both of them call each other Twinny or if it's just one of them persistently. That'll probably be easier when I can tell them apart in the first place. The blondes show up and Brittany offers to do it, which Caitlin agrees with after a moment's hesitation. Nadiya drops some plates and has to start over, and then Brittany looks at the plates on the pickup table and says, "I can do this." Caitlin calls to her from outside to take her time. But probably not too much.

Gary and Will are the ninth and last team to begin the leg, ripping their clue open at 7:32 AM. Gary interviews that they've tried so hard for so many years to get on the race that they should know it better than anyone else. "And we have become that team that you say, 'What are they doing there?'" Well, at least he's got that right. He says it's a lot harder in real life, when you're completely lost. It seems a little easier for most of the other teams, though.

Natalie calls to Nadiya through the restaurant door, "Chadaranga!" and explains to Caitlin that this is their code word meaning "relax," which seems to work, as this time Nadiya yoga-breathes all her plates successfully to her table and gets their clue in sixth place. The twins run for a cab outside as the monster truckers Rob & Kelley arrive in theirs. Rob decides to do the Roadblock not long before Brittany finishes it, putting the blondes in seventh place. Rob appears to get his plates served on the first try with no trouble at all, almost looking bored throughout, so they're still in eight place as they head to the train station. I have to admit that he got 'er done.

Gary and Will finally get to the restaurant and Gary wisely takes this one. Will's short arms would not serve him well in this task. Nor would being wound as tight as Will is.
