Teri and Ian face down the Detour. "I'm giving you a choice right now, should we walk?" Teri says. Clearly, as she implied during the bungee jump negotiation, Ian is typically the one with the fear of heights, so this is apparently coming down to his call. "I don't know," he says. He voices over that he has a long-time fear of heights, and that the long drop into the water indeed put the fear of God into him.
Elsewhere, Ken and Gerard and FloZach are running for their cars.
Back at the Detour, Ian is pondering his options. "Can you do it?" Teri says. "I've got to try," he answers. They get strapped in side by side, and he gives his face a quick and nervous swipe with his hand. Clearly, once they're launched, this isn't as scary as he expected (which was kind of my reaction to it), and they find the whole thing rather uneventful. "It was wonderful," he voices over. "I was fine." Good for him.
Elsewhere, Ken and Gerard jump into their car. Is Kenny barefoot? Why are they barefoot? FloZach reaches their car as well, and they hop in. Everyone takes off, including an abruptly shirtless Zach.
Meanwhile, Asshat retrieves the Seattle clue.
At the Honolulu airport, the Bald Snark looks for tickets to Seattle, and is soon joined by FloZach. The teams discuss the fact that nobody has any idea where Teri and Ian are.
Teri and Ian, meanwhile, clamber up the hill away from the Detour and toward their car. In the car, Teri says, "He did very well. I was very proud of him. He thought about it twice, but that was it. Right?" From the front seat, Ian says, "Actually, I never thought about it twice. I only hesitated twice. I was going to do it no matter what." Wow, now there is some revisionist history. In the back seat, Teri rolls her eyes all, "Whatever, hotshot."
The first ticket counter encounter is not entirely satisfactory, so Ken and Gerard and FloZach take to the phones. Both Ken and Gerard work phones, while Zach stays at the counter and Flo (hey, Flo's doing something!) does the phone work. Both teams wind up booking the same flight out of Honolulu to Seattle, to land in Seattle at 8:57 in the morning. When all the flights are booked, Flo voices over that she hopes Ian and Teri are far behind. Zach makes the same comment, thinking maybe they'll make it to the finish as a pair of teams, with Asshat somehow abandoned in Hawaii. In the Asshat car, Ian laments the fact that he suspects that they are indeed last, much as he'd like to think otherwise.
