Rob & Kelley, the monster truckers, are taking off at 10:59, in fifth place. Rob tells us in an interview that Kelley may seem quiet and reserved, but is amazingly competitive. Kelley adds that she's a professional barrel racer, as we see in some grainy black-and-white footage that suggests she's not so much competing in a rodeo as swimming in Loch Ness or assassinating President Kennedy. "I'd rather come in under the radar, take the money, and go home," she says. Back to that old Bigfoot-in-the-forest film where she belongs.

Jaymes and James start the leg in sixth place, at 11:10 AM. Like several teams before them, they have to begin their leg over the persistent noise of an engine in the background that sounds like a machine gun. Somebody needs a tune-up, clearly. They wish the locals "As-salaam alaikum" and head off in search of the taxi stand. You know, Jaymes's dad has cancer, too, as he mentioned earlier in the race. Has anyone looked into the reasons TAR21 gives dads cancer?

James rehangs his scale, and now gets to start loading it. He begins with one of the boulders, punning, "Thank you, you rock!" It's like he's trying to write my homepage titles sometimes. After some adjustments, he gets a perfect balance, a round of applause from the ever-present crowd of locals, and Team Metal's next clue. It's a Detour: "Straw Dogs" or "Bamboo Jungle." I never saw either version of the movie Straw Dogs, but I know enough not to pick that one. Fortunately, the Detour option by that name does not involve a violent home invasion and siege. Instead, the teams will have to help make an "eco-friendly jute bag." This entails whipping unprocessed jute fibers over a bed of huge nails to comb out the tangles. After doing this with twenty bundles, they'll have to carry a large bundle of raw jute over to where the machines weave them into bags. Their next clue will be waiting at the end of the production line, but the thing someone holds up for the camera isn't a yellow envelope, but a length of jute fabric with a picture of a large pink and white house appliquéd onto it. That must be where they'll have to go next, but it looks like the kind of place you'd want to go to anyway.
