The race stays in Dhaka for the second leg in a row, which is good news for James and Abba, what with the big lead they still have from the previous leg's Fast Forward. But there's also bad news, in the form of a call James gets from home telling him that his dad has stage-four cancer. He uses that as motivation to carry on, however, and Team Metal holds onto its comfortable lead, from the Pit Stop to the taxi stand to an eggplant vendor at the market, and on to the Roadblock, where James successfully constructs a giant scale and balances it out with matching loads of stones and rocks, with only a few hiccups. They then proceed to a Detour option in which they have to transport scarily long poles of bamboo to a construction site, and easily win their second leg in a row. I wouldn't be surprised if their lead shrunk a bit, though.

The rest of the pack finds more challenges, however. Abbie gets passed up by Nadiya at the Roadblock, and she and Ryan have a little trouble at the alternate Detour option at the local jute mill before coming in second, where Ryan pouts over this blow to their chances at beating Other Rachel and Dave's record for number of legs won. The twins struggle at the bamboo task, both with the length of the poles and then when the bicycle rickshaw they're supposed to transport the stuff on throws a chain, but they make it to the Pit Stop in third place. Rob & Kelley power through with brute force (including Kelley at the Roadblock), and they come in fourth. Trey and Lexi, who started at the back, run a strong, mistake-free leg, and come in fifth despite a major time deficit.

Brent and Josh seem cursed, however. They have so much trouble finding the taxi stand that they drop from fourth to just-barely-second-to-last straight from the Pit Stop (scarcely ahead of Trey & Lexi), and then Brent suffers dehydration and exhaustion at the Roadblock, in addition to the frustration of not being able to figure out how to put together his scale correctly.

But the goat farmers' luck may change when Jaymes & James get their bamboo all the way to the construction site three poles short of a load and they have to go back for the rest even though they're already exhausted. The Chippendales manage to deliver the correct amount of bamboo and, despite a bad spill running to the mat, come in sixth for the leg. And finally the Fabulous Beekman Boys, congratulating themselves on not quitting, are the last team to reach the mat for this season's first non-elimination leg. And they promise a fabulous comeback and a fabulous finish.
