I Got A Cab At Zanzibar

Back to Johannesburg airport. Again. More. At South African Airways, Eric and Pink, Joe and Bill, and Teri and Ian are all waiting around to see if they can get on the flight to Dar Es Salaam at 9:55 AM. As it turns out, the only team that will be getting on standby is Eric and Pink, who may or may not be gaining some advantage from the fact that they were on "priority standby" from yesterday. It seems equally possible that they just got lucky. It's really not clear that much of anything that anybody did had much to do with where they wound up in this march of teams getting the hell out of Johannesburg; it really isn't. Ian wants to know if the ticket guy can "wave a magic wand" to get them on the flight, but alas, no wand is forthcoming. Naturally, Team Guido and Teri and Ian are very disheartened by this development.

Commercials. I don't know. I have TiVo. I'm not watching commercials for you people.

When we return, we check in with the unhappy people at the Johannesburg airport, where the trailing teams learn that Air Malawi has a noon flight.

Elsewhere, we check in on the first dhow, where the swelling, beautiful music plays as we watch Danny and Oswald snooze, and then there is a record-scratching noise, and we see that Charla is puking over the side of the boat. Mirna asks if she's okay, but does nothing more than that, even after Charla says she's not okay. Mirna just waves a wee race flag. That wee race flag looks mighty familiar. I'm not sure she didn't get it at the same time as the makeup she's going to be applying later. And if you want the scoop on that, you can watch this week's Insider Videos at CBS.com. Anyway, Oswald, of course, takes pity on the ailing Charla. He comes over and applies a cold compress to the back of her neck, which makes her feel better. "You guys know a lot of beauty tips," Mirna says. Because, see, they're gay, and therefore, whatever they do for you is "beauty tips." Oswald points out gently that this has nothing to do with beauty; it's "first aid," as he says. YOU DOLT. Mirna continues waving her little flag (that very familiar little flag) and says that because she and Charla are together all the time, it's nice to have some other people on the boat with them. As usual, Oswald and Danny make everyone feel comfortable, because they are nothing but grace realized.
