Speaking of measurements being off, Jet realizes that he missed a turn. That'll throw him off but good. Flight Time realizes he's made a similar mistake, after telling us how straightforward the map is and everything. And Jen loses her map entirely while zipping around a bus, not that she seems to know it yet.
Gary and Mallory are working on pumping two liters of gas, and they got the oil, so the Speed Bump's done. Looks like they figured it out after all. They fuel the Solex, and Gary helmets up and heads out with the map in his teeth, Mallory calling after him to "just do it right the first time." If he can do that, he's already ahead of at least three other teams.
After a quick visit from an Amazing Blue Line on the Liechtenstein map, Jen looks down and sees her map missing, which causes her mouth to briefly go all blurry a couple of times. "This is bad. This is real bad," she tells us. Justin zips past Vyxsin, who's trying to make sense of her map by the side of the road. "For some reason, this doesn't make sense to me," Vyxsin says. Yes, the reason is that she's a shitty navigator. This is not news. Gary catches up with Jet at a gas station, and comparing notes doesn't really help given how Jet missed a turn and has about 17.5 km to Gary's 10.75. Still, Gary decides to follow him the rest of the way, "Just like the Tour de France."
Jen catches up with Justin on the road, and after telling him what happened to her map, offers to "help" him read his. She gets them both back on course and they proceed. "I'm thinking everybody's going to have to do this over," she says. Well, not if enough people who screwed it up can cheat off other re-racers. Vyxsin is so flummoxed she completely abandons her bike and goes running off. Jet and Gary get separated, primarily by Jet being in a hurry. Poor Gary, always getting ditched by people he ends up passing later anyway (spoiler!). Justin and Jen find Marco waiting by the side of the road, and after complimenting him on the beauty of the country (which he can do authoritatively, now that he's seen all of it), Justin hands over his guess of 22 km. Marco congratulates him and points him to the white castle over on the hill. Driving away, Justin nods to Jen when she asks, "22?" and she gets it, too. She falls in behind Justin, meaning that her map turned out to be optional after all.
